THE PILLAR JOURNAL
January 28, 2009
On January 21st we were surprised three weeks early at the arrival of my second baby. Emily Evelyn Beckley was born 7lbs 13oz. Thank you all so much for you prayers and support. Both Mom and the baby are doing great. They are both healthy and safe and sound at home.

Pillar is continuing to work on a new record which is guaranteed not to let you down. We have put a ton of attention on this record and have really been blessed to have such a great team of people around us working with us. Rob Graves will be producing this record (Red, Wavorly). We are looking forward to a new season and excited to see what God has planned for Pillar this year. Thanks again and be blessed. -rob
January 1, 2009 - Happy New Year from Pillar
Well 2008 is a thing of the past. Pillar has put behind us yet another amazing year. We saw 4 top 5 singles surface off of our "For the Love of the Game" album. "Turn it Up" went number one marking our tenth number one single of our career on the rock charts. As well as marking our 15th top 5 single. We were the most played artist on christian rock radio for 2008 and we started off the year by attending the Grammy award early in the year. Now reading through all that i realize that the statistics are cool but this is the one memory that stands out for me.
We played a show down in Carlsbad, NM back in April. Here is a journal entry I made into my personal journal.
"Tonight I spent a good deal of time hanging out after the show. Linda and Hudson were at home. She decided to ditch my on this leg of the tour.....;) There was a dad here tonight with a young boy waiting to talk to me. I could tell they were wanting something specific so I waited to for it to settle down a bit. When it finally settled down a bit the dad asked his son to tell me what he did tonight. The kid looked up and told me, "I got saved." The dad then told me that he had got saved at a Petra concert and he will always remember that. He then said that his son will always remember getting saved at a Pillar show. It was an amazingly awkward moment. Amazing because we were rejoicing. Akward because the dad was choked up. So I looked at the kid and said, " That's awesome. What's your name?" He told me it was R.J. At that moment my own son entered my mind and I realized that someday I could experience this moment with him. Then I started to cry a little bit. As I knelt down to take a picture with the little guy I had tears welling up in my eyes. I'm sure if then looked closely they would see for themselves. I appreciated that moment. I thank God for moments like that. God gives me moments like that to pour fuel on my fire."
Those are the kind of things that I can look back on in '08 and realize that we were successful. As we come through another holiday season and into a new year may we all remember to pursue Christ with everything we've got. To truly have a love for the game. As Pillar moves forward and we begin writing a new record please continue to pray for us that many others would be touch like our friend R.J.
Be Blessed and Happy New Year
Rob
December 1, 2008 - Happy Holidays from Pillar
Well the Creation Tour has finally wrapped up and there has been a ton of things going on in the Pillar camp. One of the highlights that happened at the end of the tour was receiving a phone call from our record label and finding out that we had our 10th #1 single. "Turn It Up" went number 1 on the R&R christian rock chart making our tenth number one single. Of all of the singles that we've had reach that pinnacle I feel like this one meant the most. That song was written as a tribute to christian music. It was a heart felt shout out to our industry and to our peers. So for that song to reach the top of the rock charts it was very special. Thank you to all of you for your phone calls and emails to the radio stations to make that possible.
We will be playing in a show in Tulsa, OK for New Year's Eve. That will be the only show we have in December so if you feel like coming out to Tulsa for a good time then come on out. We will use the down time to write some new music and myself prepare for my second child. My wife and I are expecting another baby in early February so we will be slow for a couple months. Its been a blast being home with the family. My son Hudson loves going to the shows. He makes me realize how important the music that we get to make really is.

In mid march we will be taking out our friends and label mates FireFlight. I will fill you in with more details later on. I pray that everyone enjoys the holiday season and that Christ is honored and remember by all of us. Take care and be blessed. -rob
October 31, 2008 - Update from Rob
We've had a few people show up with some signs. But in Columbus, OH we had one that took the cake. Steve and Co put a sign together that took
about two days to finish up. It lit up and had batteries and everything. Needless to say steve walked away with a Pillar shirt that night. And we walked away with a great memory that will last forever. Thanks to Steve and Co. for the the hard work.

For everyone else there are still plenty of shows left so make sure you come out and sport your signs and come back stage to meet us. We are looking forward to finishing this tour with a bang. We are not quite half way done with this tour so come on out and see history. The first ever Creation Festival Tour.

Check out the video
I got to go home for a few days and surprise my family on the days off. I am so thankful for my family and for the blessings that God puts in our lives. My wife Linda and I are expecting our second baby in February. We are very excited to meet this little one. We are defying technology and not finding out the baby's gender this time around. We are just praying for another healthy baby. Thank you to all of you who have been so supportive over the years. It hasn't gone unnoticed and we pray that we can continue to bless you with music that motivates and encourages you.
be blessed

June 20, 2008 - Update from Kalel
Hello, good morning! Well, it wasn't so great really for me. I woke up with this weird pain on the left side of my body. It hurts when I yawn and sometimes just sit there. Better not be anything stupid. I hate going to the doctors. Something classic happened yesterday in my family. After I picked up my kids from day care we were playing in the living room. My 4 year old Kaden said he had to go the bathroom (pee) so he went like normal. Well, he came back and I noticed something was wrong with his hair. At first I thought it was just the light, but nope he had a huge chunck of hair missing right up front. He found some cuticle scissors and decided he wanted short hair. After explaining that he should never play with scissors or cut his (or his brothers) hair I laughed a lot because he look hilarious. We took him right to the hair joint and got him buzzed. I was sure to get a nice pre-buzz picture for you all.

Feel free to laugh also. Its definitely a memory I will never forgot. I did the same thing once when I was little, but with hedge clippers. Big ones. And for some reason I did it because, "I want to look like Aquaman". What kid what's to be Aquaman? We finally have the weekend off to spend with our family! Yay! On Tuesday we are rocking the stage with Sevendust. Then we head off for some big shows and make our way to Nashville, TN for Camp Electric. I am looking forward to teaching and hanging out with all you bass players. Thanks for all the support. Have a nice weekend. -Kalel
May 28, 2008 - Pillar's roller coaster fun!
Hello guys. How you all been doing? We have been flying out every weekend playing shows and then hanging with family during the week. The shows have been great, but the flying is tough. We always have to wake up between 3:30-4:30 am to get to the airports in time. Recently we performed at Busch Gardens amusement park in Virginia. I don't remember how the show went, but I do remember the roller coasters! Of course Lester didn't go on any. I snuck my Flip video camera on the rides so you all can see. I only got in trouble once. Check out the new video on www.myspace.com/pillar. We just got back from playing a very wet show at Spirit West Coast Festival in San Diego, CA. You guys really showed us love by enduring the downpour. Thank you. Then we rocked over 6000 people for YC 2008 in Edmonton Canada. Now I am looking forward to the upcoming off weekend. I am going to finally watch the new Indiana Jones. Don't you dare tell me what happens! Please continue to request Smiling Down at your local Christian radio station. It is climbling its way up the charts. If you have a Christian rock stations in your area please hit them up and request "Reckless Youth". Thank you guys.
We are super stoked to be touring with Kutless and Thousand Foot Krutch (among other great acts) this fall for the Creation Fest Tour. You will not want to miss this night of rock! Check www.creationfesttour.com for more info.
Thanks for all your prayers and support. You guys rule. -Kalel and Pillar
April 2, 2008 - Update from Noah
Hello to all the Pillarites out there who are gonna get this super duper journal entry from us, because we love to send you stuff. Noah here! Its been a while since i've written a journal entry but, of course, something has transpired that has sparked up another great reason for me to write. So, without further adieu my wife Lindsey and I would like to present, our new son Noah Isaac Henson (Jr.) Born Sunday March 16th, at 9:58p.m. The crazy part is i woke up the morning of March 16th (the day we had scheduled to shoot the video for "For The Love Of The Game") in Van Wuert Ohio, rolled outta bed, put on my shoes and no less than one minute later i got THE call. The call that says "Hey, you're not here in Tulsa, but your wife who's just gone into labor is, so get your booty on a plane and get here asap so you don't miss your boy coming into this world." Needless to say, without much thought of what was supposed to happen on the Pillar schedule that day, i was outta there within minutes heading to the closest airport around, which thankfully was only 45 minutes away. God is awesome, and i'll tell ya why, cause i got back within a couple hours of the birth of my son Noah Isaac and the coolest part is right when little Noah was about to be born, my Doc says "Hey, you wanna help?" I was like "huh? ok, yeah" So they threw a gown on me and some gloves and the Doc let me deliver Noah right there. Man that was probably the most amazing moment of my life, next to the birth of our first child Hannah Elizabeth. (Thanks to Dr. Myers the most amazing Doc alive) So, I just gotta tell ya'll, its amazing to see this awesome little youngbuck staring up at me all the time. The weirdest thing is he looks like me, alot. So its like staring at myself 26 years ago. Word. But its so cool having a daughter and a son now, cause now i have my beautiful little princess and my handsome super ninja boy. Makin the world a better place, Go Hensons!!! Since we missed our video shoot for "For The Love Of The Game" in Van Weurt OH, we were able to make up for it in Tulsa OK on Tuesday the 25th of March. Lifechurch.tv let us use their building for the shoot and it turned out awesome. If you're not in the loop about whats going on with that, the short version is we just hooked up with MLB, which stands for Major League Baseball, and they are going to be using the song and video for their theme this year, and will be showing the video during games and hopefully during MLB highlights and such. Make sure to look out for that, its gonna rock!!! Well we've been taking a short break the last couple of weeks to see our families, and the new addition, and get some quality rest in. We're excited to tell you that we're gearing back up for the second half of the For The Love Of The Game TOUR [COMING TO A CITY NEAR YOU] starting April 2nd. So be sure to keep an eye on our tour schedule and come be a part of the event. God has been moving in Pillar like never before helping to change people's hearts and encourage our brothers and sisters to strive for greatness in this life. We thank you for all your prayers and support. God bless, we love you.
-Noah Henson

February 14, 2008 - The Grammy's
Happy Valentines Day! Stacie and I actually had to cancel our plans because our son Kaden is really sick. So pizza and a movie maybe. We all flew out this last Saturday for Los Angeles, CA for the 50th Annual Grammy Awards. We were very honored to be nominated for the Gospel Rock/Rap category. It was a nice weekend especially because my wife Stacie and Rob's wife Linda were able to come with us. On Saturday night Noah, Lester, Stacie, and I went to eat at this Mexican resturant close to the hotel. The funny thing was they were having karaoke night (in Mexican)! Then the big day. Sunday was a long day. You only see them hand out about 5 Grammy's on TV. They actually give out something like 120 Grammy's so the award ceremony is many hours long. We did not win our category. It went to an Ashley Cleveland, but that is ok. We had a blast anyways. Our seats for the televised part of the Grammy's were very good. It was awesome to see all those artists and actors live like Tom Hanks and Prince. Afterwards we were invited to the Sony after party and had the chance to see and meet many famous people. Rob has the opportunity to finally meet his favorite artist Dave Grohl with the Foo Fighters. My wife got to meet Mike Boogie from Big Brother, Daughtry and Blake from American Idol, and some guy named Kojo (some tv fashion guy)- she is really into reality tv. I saw Tia the pretty lady from the old Wayne's World movie. Overall it was awesome. I was able to sneak my video camera into the event and get some footage. Check www.myspace.com/pillar for the video. The new album is almost here- Feb 26- For The Love Of The Game. The big tour stars Feb 22- check pillartour.com and myspace.com/fortheloveofthegametour for more info. Hope to see many of you out on the road. What do you all think of the new www.pillarmusic.com? Rocks right. Thanks for all the amazing support. Get ready for the games to begin. -Kalel and Pillar
